That depends on how the protection circuit is made, typically the main limit in an SMPS is long therm thermal, it it actually possible to design a good audio SMPS with similar behavior as a 50/60hz transformer.

This is however not something easily done - but when it is done right it can be a very good solution from a size and weight point of view - investment in R&D is not competitive for low volumes.

It has already been done right, I have no worries on my supplies, thank you for asking. They will not be running at the limit, there will at least be a 25% overcurrent, probably more like 35%. Light, yes, and you can carry the amp and everything by hand, all at once. Amazing how technology meets reality.. Trust me when I say, I am no NOOB, all the homework has been done for over a year, time to get a pen out and some cash.

What??? Did you really say you are the successor to Einstein?

As far as I was told, Einstein was here to give to the world, nothing different then Franklin, Tesla, Edison, Etc... But, he did what he was told... However, science did not stop.. E=MC2 has to do with what we were supposed to know, and why it is not relevant anymore... Quantum physics has proven it wrong.

So, am I a successor? Maybe..
