I would build in this switches - especially if does not affect the sound and is cheap.
To those (like me) who run the amplifiers without speakers protection would ad extra safety.

Good questions in the other thread. The Alpha 20 has the feedback from the node upstream of the Aleph current sense resistor. Whereas the Alpha B.B. takes it from below the Aleph sense resistor to decrease output impedance. I am asking Hugh to confirm if the modifications to provide 4ohm drive are still directly transferable to the 20w PCB.
Here is the schematic associate with the production board now in GB2.

Now I know how the ccs works and how to simulate it in ltspice,
there's more in ltspice then FFT
I think the PCB will be alright for the 4R version, the schematic is the same except some resistors and caps that have another value.
As for the damping, I'll do some simulations to see the effect of where to take the fb.
If I decide for the BB style fb I can connect one leg of the fb resistor to the pcb and the other to the output.

We can start a list now or later - I was putting it off because the beta board needs to be verified that it works. But I guess there is no harm in starting an "Interest list for the BB".
I am estimating that they will cost $55/pair (keep in mind they are beautifully designed big 240mm x 130mm, 2mm thick FRP with double-thick copper and ENIG finish). I need to get estimate on shipping outside US but in the US, it will be $8. Set of 4 alumina (ceramic) TO-264 insulator pads are $2 extra.
