Akai Amp AM 2450 problem

Hi

I recently bought a vintage Akai system. The amp is AM 2450. For the past few weeks, when I turn it on, the lights on the dials flicker for a few seconds before a click is heard and then the lights stay steady and the amp turns on. This has been taking progressively longer and since yesterday the light don't come on at all and the amp does not turn on.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Sounds like a problem with the power supply. Since the amp won't turn on, check the line fuse. A defective component may have taken out the main fuse.
