Greetings!
I am looking to buy a new potentiometer for an Akai AM-95 amplifier. The service manual gives it as an RK18114A0 A104X4. As you can tell, it's a 4-gang 100k potentiometer. A bit of a shot in the dark, but would anybody know if this cross-references to a current-day model?
Thanks 🙂

Good luck with that, 4-gang pots have been about as common as proverbial hen's teeth since the '90s. You may be lucky to find one inside an old ProLogic receiver, but volume pots in general tended to be special order - loudness taps may differ, and there's quite a variation in shafts as well (flat, slotted, knurled etc.). You generally have to fix them if they have any issues, the whole deal with deriveting and all.
What's wrong with yours?

Thanks for the encouragement 😀
The issue is that the levels are equal between the two channels going into the volume pot, but unequal going out... I gave it a good clean, but no change.
Also, the variation in resistance is not equal between the gangs. At lower volumes, the difference in level between channels is greater, but as I increase the volume, the difference gets smaller.

The largest variety of world famous potentiometers for all applications.
No idea of the quality though --Alps -4 gang are for sale on eBay but again are they real or clones ?

Is that not just the tolerances and tracking of the component, even as new?
I would expect better that what I see on the oscilloscope (attached)...
That's good to know. No 18mm pots unfortunately.

They are indeed, but I could not find any RK18. No idea about the quality either...
RK18 =18mm size metal shaft .
I have replaced 1000,s of potentiometers in old tube radios of all sizes and values of 100K ohms being very common due to tube impedance's those that were the wrong length I sawed through the shafts .
Of course you cant do that with shafts within shafts but if its a single shaft equally adjusting all the resistances then it is possible.
Nobody knows you cut it down to size when a control knob is fitted.
