I will hold off from the new A70 case until they work out any bugs. Haven't seen pics of the inner layout/design yet.
Until then, I'll start the next case for the A07's sibling....The A04...

I had that amplifier in my hands. It sounded a bit boring. We saved it by installing 2xOPA1656.
It has too much voltage gain, very impractical even with medium sensitivity speakers. You should probably go into the schematic and change what you need (a couple of resistors I guess) to get some normal gain.
I also tried 2xSparkos SS3602, but that was overkill for the price of A07, and it sounded too harsh.

Not budging here, I'm really enjoying it with the LM4562's. I just built the SDA-clone crossovers to drop in the same MTM's and run them with a large isolation transformer. Will be nice to have the large soundstage again, but with a Class D amp (damn good sounding one too).
With an isolation transformer on the SDA circuit, this amp runs even cooler at very loud levels...
The details coming forth are even better, along with the huge SDA sound stage...

Here's the crossovers I used for the SDA conversion. Immense soundstage improvement...
To expound: this A07 Class D amp is adequate for running Polk SDA's with an isolation transformer as the interconnect cable.

I never showed a pic of the 0.010 oiled paper bearing (does a fantastic job eliminating last bit of drag), but going to machine a recess for a 145mm thrust bearing to R&D when I go to build a 230mm diameter dial and case. XSive, but necessary when the time comes.
Thanks sir. I'll be adding the hidden dial removal screws next, just as I did for the A04 case. Also have an Alps 50K on order as well.
What are the air coils and output capacitors needed for upgrade on this unit?

Thank you for the pics. I see you went to 3300uf main caps? You running the unit with top off or clearanced?
Also I can solder these in if there wouldn't be an issue will lower DCR?

This was my first kinda DIY mod project. First time learning how to order parts....whats lead spacing and so on? So the top doesnt fit, but I run most of my projects without covers so I can check out the resistors and capacitors when I walk by 🙂 I have no idea about the lower DCR. I was just copying what I saw others doing in the Aiyima 07 mod postings that is somewhere here on DIYaudio.
You can also add a thermal transfer block between the chip and the anodized heat sink, raising it to be away from the large caps if you run it hard. JAT
I cleaned off the dried factory thermal paste and added new recently. The A04 was the same way.
