air cooling

has anyone had any luck air cooling a zen amp with a pc fan. and if so whats a good psu to power it so i dont get line noise?

or is a dedicated psu good?🙂

Well...just a note.. unless you have some neat cowling around that heatsink, it's setup for convection better than forced air. To get maximum effect, the air has to be blowing lengthwise over the heatsink, and preferably through the holes as well.

ya i was looking at that ill try incasing it. the fan is a multispeed
gets faster as it gets hotter but its super quiet

Try to wind some wire in your toroidal transformer until you get the voltage you need. For me it worked with about 10 turns, to get around 7 V. I am using CPU fans inside the case.

Don't forget a rectifier and an optional cap as CPU fans are DC

ya just wanted to try it out. and it sound
really good had some line noise but i got rid of that . when i finish the case ill make my own from the board up. just wanted to here it first. 🙄

works with case fan man it throws a lota heat but heatzinc is cool to touch incasing it helped thanks now for a face plate.
