I’ve been curious about doing a speaker with these two drivers for a while as a kinda “spiritual homage” to the Dynaco A25.
has this been done at all? I want to use something like the AE because I like the dynamics and increased sensitivity but I don’t really care about using a horn.

Closest I know is the Helios by Jeff Bagby that I built with Satori 9.5" and waveguide guided Satori tweet.
However the AE is much more efficient, 93db wow.
Looking forward to your build and suggesting the waveguide satori tweet to match the TD10M better

If you want to build a Dynaco A25 then you can build the Seas A26, full plans available and uses the first order crossover etc in a leaky sealed box. It uses the A26RE4 woofer and T35C001 tweeter. If you search on here there are a number of threads on this speaker including variants with the Eminence B102 woofer and the Morel CAT378 tweeter plus larger ported boxes.

That’s a really awesome design! Looks like he is basically using a passive radiator to achieve the same effect as the stuffed port.Closest I know is the Helios by Jeff Bagby that I built with Satori 9.5" and waveguide guided Satori tweet.

i agree, the increased sensitivity is still something I want to try and achieve with the TD10M.
The great thing about the Satori tweeters, even the ones that are not on the horn is that they have a pretty wide frequency response. The FS is in the 600-700 range for most of them. And AE says the TD10M can go up to 2khz so pretty good range to make sure you get optimal XO.
my one reservation about this horned one more than anything is the Be Tweeter…I have a 6 year, 4 year old, and another on the way. And kids like to touch…
Easy to replicate, perhaps with a cheaper passive radiator..That’s a really awesome design! Looks like he is basically using a passive radiator to achieve the same effect as the stuffed port.

The SB standard series has a beryllium, SB29BAC or shoot for the Bliesma as both have protective grills.my one reservation about this horned one more than anything is the Be Tweeter…I have a 6 year, 4 year old, and another on the way. And kids like to touch…
But it can be added later, the SB29R is already top notch..
Yea the SB29R and that entire range seem like one of best choices out there these days.Easy to replicate, perhaps with a cheaper passive radiator..

I think the VC is slightly larger than 1” and I’m pretty sure the original a25 used a 1” tweeter
