TO ANYONE THAT HAS HEARD OR KNOWS OF THE Rockville SPG88 8" Inch Passive 400w 8OHMS VERSION
ARE THEY ANY GOOD AS SURROUNDS IN A HOME THEATER ............
A PLAN TO GET 4 OF THEM FOR MY SETUP ,IV GOT 2 MORE CROWN XLI 800 TO DRIVE THEM WITH AT 200WATTS RMS ONE FOR EACH SET
MY ? IS WOULD THEY BE GOOD ENOUGH TO BLEND WITH MY PL-28II CENTER AN MY PL-89 tower speaker FRONTS
THose ARE ALSO BEING DRIVEN BY A SET OF XLI 800 TOO
recently,i got a response from a amazon reviewer who said the built in crossovers failed after long term use an he had to replace the crossovers (though he didnt say how long he used them),has ANYONE had any problems with THESE IN THAT WAY , i use my sound system about 6 days a week roughly about 10plus hours a day so hopfuly they survive .
so to anyone the has insight about these let me know?

How long they will last depends on how hard you drive them. A lowcut takes off a lot of strain on them. A subwoofer and active crossover even more.
how are you running a 80hz highpass ,whats your receiver
Any decent modern receiver lets you select high pass frequencies on main and surround channels. Also any decent pre amp for surround is the same.
If you are NOT using a surround decoder, you will either need to use built in crossovers in amps(yours don't have one) or use an external crossover like a Behringer etc

Sony STR-DN1080.
Here you go.
The position of the potentiometers does NOT indicate a certain frequency. It is extremely rare the frequencies on the marks actually match the output.
E: Oh, and remove that dreaded sticker on your receiver.
