Advice on my DIY build.

Im now thinking of actually buying selected woofers for the project now.
Having outlayed in excess of $100 on the 2.1 amp, that may sound a sensible idea.

However, the problem is that the new woofer driver parameters will determine the enclosure (and port) dimensions, and those dimensions may not suit your "coffee table" cabinet.

I would persevere with your mockup of the enclosure, and experiment until you produce a satisfactory bass response with the Yamaha driver. There may be other things we/you can try to improve the bass response.

If you find a satisfactory solution, you can then translate it to your actual "coffee table" cabinet.

Can I confirm that you have settled on one Yamaha woofer and two small full range drivers as your basis for continuing with this project?

Don't worry about the 6 ohm impedance of the Yamaha driver at this stage.

I've picked up on your statement that the ported box in which the Yamaha subwoofer was originally located is approximately half that of your "coffee table" cabinet.

It is easy to reduce the internal volume of an enclosure using partitions or wooden blocks and, anyway, space will be used up by the internal boxes which are required to isolate the small, full range speakers from the back pressure of the Yamaha subwoofer.

@Galu, you are right 🙂 for some reason there is a delay on my posts but i think since i am new on this forum the administrators have to check my posts 🙂

Yeah i have kinda come to the conclusion for 1 yamaha and isolating 2 full range speakers in the box. 🙂

That being said, i dont intend to have something like this... 🙂 hahaha

I also bought the DSP software from Arylic and boy it does make a difference. Yeah i know its a cheat and the box sounds terrible currently.. i will update you on how it goes.
