I was wondering if anyone has any advice on building a red box/ radial jdx type di? Basically a di that goes between an amp and a cab. I don't need any amp simulation. Is there anything to keep in mind or is it essentially a similar circuit to a regular di? Anyone have a transformer preference?
A DI is a Direct Box. An interface that takes some form of signal and outputs a low level balanced version of it to feed into a PA mixer or other similar application. Most often we find them connected to a line out from some amplifier, but they do make them also specifically to use in the speaker path.
