advent vs jbl

as far as efficiency goes i am wondering wich is better, my early advents or my jbl decade 36's? any thoughts on 3way vs 2way?
i also have a pair of epi bookshelf speakers (epicure iis the model i think) that need new woofers. are these worth repairing?

The EPI's have something of a cachet in some circles so if only the foam surrounds are gone then I would have a go at repairing them. This is not as difficult or expensive as it sounds so you could DIY and end up with a nice sounding little b/shelf system you can use in a spare room or as rears in a surround system...
