This morning MIT released it's early admission decisions, and I am incredibly happy to say that I was admitted!
It is one of the most selective schools in the country, or the world for that matter, even a perfect GPA or SAT by NO means guarantee admission, what they look for is passion and entrepreneurship above numbers
It is my top choice by a significant fraction, and I plan to attend.
It is safe to say that my speaker projects, especially my senior project were a large contributing factor to the decision.
I would like to thank all of you guys who have supported and encouraged me to delve deeper than I ever expected to into audio design!

Congratulations! That's fantastic. Beautiful job on the speakers.
Have you finished the complete system?

Thanks!
Nope still working on it. I will update that page soon but I have been very busy. It's pretty outdated There is a light at the end of the tunnel though.
I am DJing a pretty large event with it this Wednesday at my school. Sort of an unofficial debut. It's done enough that I can use it

Nice work, nice system - puts my little stereo to shame 😉
Congrats on getting into MIT - party tonight by any chance?
PS - if you want to show off those subs, try Niggas in Paris.
I'm not keen on the music, but the last ~minute of this is rather good on any properly-bass-capable system:

Thanks everyone!
Yes I do plan on working on speakers. From what I hear (I'm in contact with a thesis student there) speaker guys are highly sought after in the dorms for building and maintaining the party systems. I would love to build another big system while there!
Chris: I am familiar with that song, however as much as I would love to I think the admin would frown on me blasting it during lunch haha
I already have the speakers I want to bring with me all planned! Once I get the funds I will start making (even more) sawdust

You're in good company, specifically the guy at this website:
equals zero
I first met him in the local robot club when he was in high school, he was obviously very bright and industrious back then. He had his choice of schools, he could have stayed here in Atlanta and attended Georgia Tech, but he went up north. He's had some fame with his "lolriokart" which got him featured in Popular Mechanics.
MIT is definitely the place for "big systems," audio and otherwise!

I've seen that before, I'm hoping to see it in person when I go there.
There are several groups, such as MITERS (through which he made the lolriokart) that can provide tools and work space that I will definitely seek out
