Hi Jack,
you quote 1uF but the scope shows 1000uF.

I have seen recommendations between 10uF (manufacturer) to 220uF (users).
Where in that range do you suggest we aim?

you get almost the same noise reduction with 220uF as with 1,000 uF...i was just picking up on Sid's comment and demonstrating the effect.

Here is my late Thank You. I have not got access to the net until now. You have turned this thread to a very helpful one.

I have to say I am pretty happy with my current CRC implementation with the rest closely following the LM317 application note.

Your posts have new ideas and I will be happy to implement them.
