Adding weight to a speaker to lower Fs

Be careful of two things: the Qts is already pretty high, and added mass will make it even higher. The magnet looks a bit weak. And consequently, you'll have some power handling (read: SPL) issues in the deep bass. I'd save the added-mass technique for drivers that have better motors.

Free is nice, though!

Thanks everyone. I dumped the idea of adding weight, I drilled a hole in a sidepanel I had laying around and am currently running it as an open bafflesub. Although I don't doubt that it would probably not compete with comercial subs I think it's quite good considering the total cost was $0.00.
