Adding Treble, Bass to a circuit

Hi I have a quite decent MIxer but the channels don't have EQs. So I'd like to design a new layout based on that mixer. What is a suitable order for a circuit?

CHANNEL 1:

LEFT: Input ->Level->EQ ->
--------------------------------- Pan -> sum level
RIGHT: Input ->Level->EQ ->

Should the EQ placed before or after the level section or can I combine that in one circuit in the level section?

Typically they are placed just after the input buffer (first opamp) stage and before the mixing stage.

Take a look at Yamaha's MC1202 mixer and it should give you some kind of idea.
This is the operating manual and describes the signal chain look at page 12.
The full service manual with schematics can be found by searching as well.
I have this mixer and it sounds very good even though it uses the 4558's.
