This amplifier has no pre-amp output. It obviously has got a pre-amp and a power section its just all enclosed. Can anyone tell me please looking at it, is this a simple job were I could just tie in some RCA leads from the board to give me the option to T off after the pre amp so I can use it with a separate power amp as well?

Get a copy of the service manual, it will have the schematic and pcb layout.
You may need a line driver a.k.a. Buffer if you want a pre-out but the schematic will tell; it’s certainly doable.

Undoubtedly the best way to listen to the Marantz is with ‘source direct' selected; bypassing the tone, balance and (frivolous) loudness controls brings greater benefits here than with any other amp in this class.
Look at the white socket near the two big chemical capacitor with grey cable an under the red/black cable, near a very small red capacitor
