Adding Phantom Power to old board?

I know......this is a crazy idea usually, with all of the external phantom supplies out there.

I just picked up an old studio master 16 to 4 board and no phantom. Lots of empty spaces in the chassis.

I also have an old fostex 450 crap board and it has this inside of it.

The yellow connector is 2 pins....... 48v and 0v and is labelled "phantom"
The 3 sets of wires blue, yellow, orange all connect to the transformer. If I were to take the transformer and this board and transplant them into the studio master......would there be a way that I could route phantom power to the xlrs?

If so, would I need any additional parts, or just directly connect the 4bv to the pins 2 and 3 of the xlr inputs?

Any help would be appreciated.

This should do the trick. You may need to change the the gain of the mixer to accommodate the mics you are using. E

I had an old Fostex 450 and I replaced all of the opamps and what a world of difference it made.
It gave my Mackie 32-8 a run for its money and sounded very nice after the mod.

Use 12 volts for the phantom supply and then all you need to do is add the two resistors to each input.

I just bought a Fostex 450 board and I'm thinking of modifying (updating it). What would you recommend? Changing mic pre caps, opamp change. Basically I'd want noise to go down, but more or less keep the overall character of the board..if possible.. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated..
