Many possibilities are available, but you end up with a system where the user interface is a bad hack. This is understandable if you could save a lot of money using the hack, but a new auto stereo that fits the same mounting and speaker connections are very cheap, potentially cheaper than the hack gadgets. The ease of use in an automobile is very important because the task of driving does not allow any distractions. Inexpensive Bluetooth auto stereos are available from Amazon, Walmart, and many other places. An external Bluetooth receiver will not provide cell phone hands free function, and phone controls.
