Hey folks , i have a project that requires 24V 0V 24V and a 12v 0v 12v. I have a 24v 0v 24v torroid. How would i go about adding a 12v 0v 12v winding. Ive added a 12v winding before but never added a center tapped winding.
Thanx in advance.

You need to wire two 12V windings in what's called bifilar. That is, wind both at the same time with two strands of magnet wire. The leading end of one winding and the trailing end of the other would comprise the center tap.
Thanx for the reply but im sorta confused as to what leading and trailing ends means. Sorry if its a stupid question.
Okay , correct me if im wrong. I take 2 pieces of magnet wire say 50 turns long. I wind both pieces together and i use the starting end as my center tap and the 2 wires at the end as my two 12v wires. Is that correct ??
Wind 10 or 20 winds.
Sand 1-2 mm wire and measure AC. Don't cut yet.
Cumpute winds needed for Your Voltage & also check if AC mains Voltage is within spec.
Now wind computed first Wind.
Measure AC again to check for correct Voltage or wind / unwind a few turns.
Cut the wire and this will be your center tap.
Twist the starting wire and start winding the second wind.
Make sure windings follow the same direction as the Primary winding.

Not quite. Using two wires wound together is right. Let's call the four wire ends beginning 1 and beginning 2 and end 1 and end 2. After they are wound connect beginning 2 and end 1 as your center tap. You'll know it's right if you measure 12V between beginning 1 and the center tap and 12V between center tap and end 2 and 24V between beginning 1 and end 2.
One last question if dont mind. Can i do a full winding all arround the torroid then get my center tap then do my next winding over top the other tap?? And should i insulate each tap??
No, it is the other way.Okay , correct me if im wrong. I take 2 pieces of magnet wire say 50 turns long. I wind both pieces together and i use the starting end as my center tap and the 2 wires at the end as my two 12v wires. Is that correct ??
EDIT: As explained by Jhofland.

Yes, you can!
Best regards!
