Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to add a subwoofer to my two channel tube amp because of insufficient bass from my main speakers. I have some DIY experience as I built the amp myself from a kit so I'm looking to build some sort of filter or something to seperate the lows from the highs and mids. Then I could hook this "thing" up to a powered subwoofer to fill in the lower ends. Does something like this even exist? Also, it would be convenient if the amount of bass is adjustable and the price is no more than $100.
I would appreciate any help!🙂

The easiest and perhaps the cheapest way to do it is to buy a plate amp and use the speaker level in. That way you can run the main speakers off the plate amp speaker out. There is usually a high pass filter on those outputs.
Man, wrong answer... we are DIYers... we can build amps of hundreds of Watts, but not subwoofers?
I am also trying to trace the fault in my own subwoofer controler design, which at the moment is just a variable oscilator....
It just cand be that hard...
Summing amp
+ 2 band parametric equaliser
+ amp to power the sub.
Plateamps sounds like a nice idea until you find yourself outside of the USA... shipping from there is so expensive, they should be able to include an 8 year old in the package to assemble everything...

Haha, thats the spirit!
Well, I can't really design anything myself, just build stuff from schematics and simple stuff like that. I just can't find anyone who did something like this before. Or maybe someone did, but I don't know what they're doing. If anyone could give me some sort of design to work with I would be very thankful.
