I have an adcom gfp555 that is dead, has power going in, trans smells burnt, but is putting out voltage. I forget how much, I think around 20volts. Any help appreciated
Maybe that's why the MK11 version had an uprated power supply ?
Capacitor replacement is recommended ( and needed by some owners ) .
Both schematics are available on hifi engine .
Sounds ( and smells ) like burnt out transformer windings or shorted turns allowing a small output .
Having said that the MK 11 schematic shows a much better layout of the power supply which outputs 20V/+/- so if you are getting around that voltage with no load then its possible the transformers overheated and you have a shorted turn.
Are the fuses okay ?--if so its most likely the transformer that's at fault.

Had a similar problem and found a burnt resistor was the culprit. My thread is somewhere on here. I got good advice from some people on this board so I’m sure you will too.
If the LED is still on the we n I doubt the transformer is the issue.
