Adcom Gfp-555 I I

I was given an ADCOM GFP-555 II and I was looking at some pictures on EBAY and noticed some U-shaped jumpers in the RCA jacks on the IN and OUT for Signal Processor.

What are these and do I need them? If I do what do I need them for?

Thanks!

Its a line signal in and out loop that is used for signal processors or something that would normally hook up to a tape monitor loop such as an equalizer for example. The difference being the component is continuously in the preamp circuit path. With out an actual component hooked up you need to complete the "loop" with the jumpers.

Thanks, So is it only necessary when taping? Sorry if I am being a little slow about this. I hooked it up and it seems to function normally without them(jumpers) when playing from the CD as the source. I didn't try to tape anything and I doubt I ever will use that function. I would test it myself but I don't have a tape deck.
