I have a pair of Adcom 565 monoblocks which seem to have the leaking capacitor problem. Over the years I have really enjoyed my amps and would like to have them around for some time to come. I do not have the time to devote to attempting to make the repair myself and do not want to take them to a shop that may or may not be able to do an adequate job. As such, I am asking the members here who are quite versed in this problem for recommendations for a repair center proficient in this type of repair. (and by proficient, I don’t mean a shop which is just aware of this issue but one that has done this type of repair before and has become skilled in carrying out the repair correctly). I did a search prior to this post and found much discussion on the subject but little in the way of recommendations, and as this is my first post, I am unable to send messages or emails to others who might be of service. Any help in this regard would be much appreciated.
I have a pair of 565's I bought on Ebay a year ago. My caps were done at this firm in NJ , and the amps were fine for a year until recently I have discovered I have nearly no volume at all. Rail fuses are fine and still has faint audio. I might mention I have always had a thump when they power up yet I do leave them on all the time.
I noticed a member that has pretty much completely rebuilt his and offers GFA-565 services for US based customers that may be just what you are looking for. His website
