Adcom GFA-555II donor or rebuild

I just purchased a working GFA-555II for $100 originally thinking to use it as a donor chassis for a class a, low wattage amp, but now wonder if it is worth it to upgrade the original circuit. For the low wattage amp I was looking at one of the firstwatt single ended amps with semisouth devices or irfp240. Not sure if the heatsinks can handle the idle dissipation.

Any advise?
