I'm looking for a simple ADAT to 8-channel analog out. Doesn't need to be fancy, 44.1/16 is enough.
I'd prefer it to be a pcb as it is to integrate with some other boards. Something like a ADAT to 4x stereo SPDIF is also an option as spdif da converters are easier to find. Or as a last resort a reliable source for the Wavefront AL1402. I don't fancy making aboard for such an application but if that is the only way...

Banzai Music (Germany) stocks many Coolaudio chips, also V1401 but not V1402 which AL1402 compatible. You could ask them for including the V1402. It is available elsewhere (USA).
Dantimax used to have an ADAT receiver board: http://electronics.dantimax.dk/Kits/Digital_audio/index.html
There is also this FreeDSP project if you got the V1402 chip from somehere:
https://github.com/freeDSP/freeDSPx-ADAT-IO-x4
Comes with gerbers.
Just add cheap DAC boards from aliexpress...

Thanks for the links. Both seem to be comparable in function being just an ADAT in and I2S out. But I'm not keen on having to connect board to board to board with such signals. And if I have to have the pcb's made like in the case of the FreeDSP board I can add what I want directly. Just have to find some time to draw the board.
The FreeDSP board is more or less the proposed circuit from the AL1402 datasheet. I'd like to have local clock so I'll have to add that.
Those PCM5102 board look interesting. Even cheaper than separate chips...
