The AD8307 is a log amplifier, usually used for RF measurements. The application sheet from Analog Devices shows how to use it at audio frequencies, as an audio millivoltmeter, however, there seems to be lots of errors, as the circuit suggested does not work on very low levels, were it should excel !
I have seen an article here ;
Silicon Chip Online - Build A Digital Audio Millivoltmeter
but it is too complicated. I want something simpler, like a direct input to the AD8307 chip. Does anyone have any idea how to match the input of this chip for audio work ?
Thanks
Paul
