hi sjp,

The AD* tweeters you are reffering to are philips dome drivers from the late seventies / begin eighties, the 61 and 62 have mylar (yellow) domes and, when compared to more modern - danisch - tweeters, produce a relatively raw top end without much finesse. The 0163 employs a fabric dome and tends to sound slightly better, softer and more detailed. Make sure to adjust the series capacitor when swapping the old 16ohm tweeter for a 8 ohm model, these tweeters don't like anything under 3500 hz.

Thanks. So, if i dont want to change the capacitor, leak(15ohm) is best choose? is the sound of leak softer and detailed?
thanks

What do you think if I change it by “Sansui T-104 Horn"
link: Sansui T 104 Horn Tweeter Driver 14 Ohms 20 Watts SP 3500 SP Series | eBay

+ Same horn
+ Same made in japan
+ Same 20W
+ Same side

+ But one 16 Ohm, one 14 Ohm. If I choose 14 Ohm and don’t want to change the capacitor, the sound is bad????? I fear that. Some one say no problem, are you sure?
+ Sophistication: Sansui T-104 better than National 5HH17SD or else??
Who say me the true ... help me, plzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi sjp,

Swapping a 16ohm tweeter with a 14 ohm model while preserving the original filter values will slightly up the crossover freq. From a power perspective you're safe, the new tweeter will dissipate a fraction less power. From a listeners perspective the increased crossover frequency could cause a small dip but chances are you won't even notice.

I would advice against using dometweeters and definitly go for the sansui horn as both being horns will make them a better match sensitivity wise.
