There is a lot of discussion about Analog Devices DSP's across various threads. AD has some very interesting Web tutorials on their website for DSp development.

ADI Has a great website for the Blackfin. The page has a number of tutorials, codes examples, and beginner's guides to DSP's. Besure to checkout their SDK for use with VisualDSP++.

and for SHARC

Nice learning resources.

The AD DSPs are fairly easy to use, though with the AD1940, once you get into the guts of programming it, you find that the documentation is a bit thin.

I ended up spending a lot of time working out where the registers are, and the relationships between them.

If yoe are considering using the AD1940/41, feel free to drop me a line, as I have C code that I use for user programmable crossover, parametric, real time delay etc.

There is some data on the last version of it here...
