Actual rainbow clouds!

I had to hurry home today, after the sun went down there was a fantastic rainbow effect on the clouds! Lots of vibrant colours! Too bad I don't have any good camera, but here are some of the more successful pictures:

A few more:

I think the rainbow effect comes from the cloud particles being ice, I've seen some red sunsets, with orange and pink, but never the full spectre!

Beautiful!

Wonder what caused that, it's almost like an aerial oil slick.
(I don' mean that in a bad way, just visually it reminds me of an oily puddle.)

My wife agrees 🙂

Like a great oily puddle in the sky.

It was a bit difficult to take those pictures, most of them are just very white. I wanted to take more pictures, but my oldest daughter ran around in the snow wanting to find the miniature snowman we made yesterday. Can't wait to have some time off with my family again, making campfires in the forest, in the snow, drinking hot chocolate and grilling meat on sticks.
