Active speaker with Seas Excel

Hello!

I want to rebuild my Seas TRYM speakers to active, because I have problems with bass response(peak at 50Hz....). I want to ask you, is it possible to use SEAS W22-001 woofer in sealed enclosure (23l)and make active baffle step correction and correction of the freq.resp. of the sealed enclosure?

Thanks!

Regards

FRANK

Im sure its possible to do this with either a pasive or active line level crossover with a Linkwitz transform for the wooffer and bi amping the speakers. Im using a pair of the Alesis amp modules from ApexJr (LM3886 and LM2876). I am now in the process of figuring out the crossovers. I do not like the default crossover(4th order @1600Hz)

Hunt the forum for info on pasive line level filters and Linkwitz transform or goto Rod Elliots pages (down at this time??) He has projects on both and a few amp projects, too.

Thanks for the tip! I want to use 12dB/oct. crossover at 2000Hz, active baffle step compensation(6dB:200-800Hz), compensation of the freq.resp. of the closed box(3dB 120-60Hz) and 12dB/okt.HP filter at 50Hz to compensate of the Xmax at low freq. What do you think, can I use the Seas W22EX001 in 23l closed box and modify the freq. Resp. by this way?
Are the Eliot´s amplifiers good? I want to use his 60W/8ohm amp. in my active speaker.
Thanks!

active crossover

I have found this schematic! What do you think about it? Is it good solution? Which is better at 1600-2000Hz, 12dB/okt. or 24dB/okt. I want to use minimum of OPamps.
Is the Sallen/Key configuration better for 12dB/okt filters?

Thanks!

Frank
