So I just got thees Acoustat speakers for $300 a couple days ago. Have been listening to them for about 10 hours now and they sound great, only issue is a small pop (sounds like a ticking wrist watch) that seems to happen at random coming from one of the panels but it is not bothering me all that much. But that brings me to my question the guy I got them from was not sure of the model number of the panels but the transformer is a mk-121-b medallion transformer on a black base the panels are about 6 foot by 2.5 foot and seem to be full range panels. Thees are the first ESL I have ever had so I want to find out what they are so I can get some info on if they can be modded or how I will need to repair them. I have attached some pictures to this post please let me know if there is any more useful information I can provide.

Update:
After doing a lot of reading I think they may be a model 3 but I cannot confirm this for sure. Also anyone who has some experience with thees can I get an opinion on some bass management with them? I am currently having the best luck using the woofer only section of my lxmini's as a kind of bass helper. I have 2 svs pb2000 subs and they tend to overpower so I mostly only use them for movies or music that demands a sub, hip hop or things like that. Any ideas would be helpful.

These do appear to be Model 3's of a fairly late vintage, probably manufactured in the mid 1980's. If in good condition, $300/for the pair is a great price.

A random 'ticking' noise is not that uncommon, and is usually caused by a small speck of foreign material caught in the gap between stator and diaphragm. This creates a localized, periodic discharge. Although annoying, it is not causing any harm to the speaker. Sometimes, this issue will cure itself. Or, you might try gently banging your open hand on the surface of the speaker to dislodge the offending material (be sure the speaker is fully discharged first). Other times, a thorough cleaning of the panels is necessary, which requires discharging the speaker and removal of the grille cloth. Cleaning is best done by a gentle application of compressed air and/or vacuuming both sides of the panel.

Thank you for the info, its not bothering me all that much ( the ticking) and thees speakers are going into a more public room. So depending on how much time it takes I may just leave it be. I honestly like my lxmini's more but this may be not the case if I clean the model 3. I am also also unable to sit in the "sweet spot" of the model 3 as in my "man cave" I sit at my desk as I work from home. There are thing I like a lot about both sets(lxmini and model 3) but for my seating position the lxmini is better but I have yet to move the model 3 into the big room so I cannot say to far. All I can say is I feel I got a very good deal and I very much love this speaker so far especially for $300. Do you have any base management suggestions AcoustatAnswerMan? I have a couple rooms with only 8 foot ceiling (man cave is 15 feet) would that be much better. Keep in mind wife approval factor is not a factor in my case I can put 6 foot horns in my kitchen if need be.
