I now have both and wondered which you guys prefer or would keep and why? I am trying to decide as both have pros/cons. They 4's have a bit more bass, but the 3's might image better. At least that what I am hearing so far. Both have the 121 interfaces. So what would your pick be? Sadly, I cannot keep both 🙁

You are experiencing the classic Acoustat compromise: a 4 panel wide system has better bass, while the narrower 3 panel wide system has better imaging. Which is more important to you is a matter of personal choice.
This set of compromises was the inspiration for the variable-width Acoustat Spectra series, all of which have very similar imaging charateristics, but with increasing bass performance as the number of panels increase.
I think I am going to keep the Model 3's and sell the Monitor 4's. The 4's sound great, but the room isn't real wide, like 13' or so.
If memory serves me right, the model 3 have 2 nine inch wide and centre is 8 inch wide, correct? , The 4's have 4 nine inch? or 2 nine's and 2 eights? Thanks Al
I've only heard Acoustats once - the Model 3 pair I bought a few months ago. The sound is so natural it's uncanny! Soundstage is not as wide as my DIY towers, but I'm still tweaking the placement. I will also upgrade the caps and resistors in the interfaces.
