Yes you can change over configuration as desired using the same board. There is quite a bit of flexibility🙂

Each Ravenna board is 8ch only. Maybe two boards to give up to 16ch but not sure sync of the channels on separate boards

Yes, you can share a common clock with two boards to get a 16ch version but these need to in the same box to keep clock connections short. I will detail more in the support later …

Actually, I have to check further on this configuration. While the DAC channels can be scaled and clocked on multiple boards, the Ravenna side does not see x2 8ch Ravenna receivers as an aggregate 16ch device. So may not be possible.

Yes, the limitation or complexities for >8 channels sync will be the audio/IF side and not the DAC itself. I don’t know if there are any 16ch USB-I2S devices out there?
