Hi guys, quick question which may have a long answer.
I spotted a cheap P-266 power amp for sale. This is one of the old school Accuphase models which can switch between class AB and A.
An issue the seller has mentioned with a photo attached- both VU meters on power up, rest at -30. But they are not stuck, they 'work'.
Is this possibly indicative of a problem with the amp? Or that the meters simply need recalibration?

-30dB is the "right" reading for 1V signal. I wonder if some idiot turned the pots without knowing what he was doing.
Or there may be real power problems.

This shop imports from Japan to Thailand- hopefully it is as u said and not the latter.
Mind you, I'm having the age old problem dealing with thai hifi shops. They either try and rip off foreigners, show complete disinterest in selling even expensive gear or make every excuse as to why their shop is closed, ie some thai's just hate farang.
I hope this guy is legit, but after 2 days of why he cant open up for me I almost gave up.
