Accuphase e-202 relay

Hi folks,

Looking at relpacing the relay in my Accuphase e202, and was wondering if there was easy way to replace this with a dpdt relay such as the omron ly2, to me nothing jumps out immediately because of the way the relay circuit works and the low impedence wires, but maybe someone has an idea?

Heres what the service manual says about the protection circuit, does anyone know how i would disconect the low impedance part of the circuit?

Could anyone explain how when there's a fault as detailed in section 2 of how the protection circuit works the ac frequency doesn't get applied to the base of q3?
