Hi all
I'm new to these forums, and I am planning to build an AC to DC power supply. I am looking for a very high end design.
The AC supply voltage is 230V at 50Hz and the output needs to be 12V at 1A.
My only priority is that the AC to DC converter resembles an ideal battery as much as possible with the absolute minimum ripple and noise.
The size of the unit will be 400x120x400, so there is a lot of space for a transformer and capacitance.
Does anyone know of a very good schematic I could use?

go to TNT.
They take you through about 4stages from very simple but adequate, to a bit more complicated but very good.

Thanks for your help folks, I will have a read through those pages and develop a schematic from there.
It's a coincidence that the first reply was from another Scot.
