Sources For Motor Run Capacitors?
Fellow Fanatics,
Thanks for the thread--I read it with interest.
Can anyone suggest a good source for them?
I need some for my PS--50 uF or multiples thereof,
and 500 VDC.
I looked on Mouser, but couldn't track anything
down.
Here's my contribution--I Googled (verb) around
and found this:
http://www.ascapacitor.com/Products/polypropylene.htm
and specifically:
http://www.ascapacitor.com/Products/x389s.htm
I dunno the price.
What do you think?
Can you suggest something better?
Thanks!
George Ferguson

Re: Sources For Motor Run Capacitors?
When in doubt...ebay

Most are rated 370VAC which should do fine at 500VDC. 440VAC and 600VAC cost more, are larger, and come in smaller values.
If you want ASC in particular, Allied Electronics carries them. $25.00 minimum purchase.

Re: They're OK
Hey John,
Could you give me a bit more contact information for these folks? I couldn't find them with Google (tm).
Best,
George Ferguson

I have used them in prototypes, and they behaved just fine.
However, I found that the Russian PIO's were actually cheaper. I got those from Guintaras and Tony Welsh.
Cheers,
