As an extra measure, you could put a low amp fast blow fuse and high value inductor on the input for your first power up. This would prevent you from trashing your replacement Mosfets if something else got damaged. Its possible (although unlikely) another set of mosfets have been damaged. If the fuse blows with no load, you probably have something else damaged.
I would check the the non-fried mosfets to see if the recovery diode works and check for a gate shorts before powering up.

Hi I'm a newbie
I just bought a used Moto Master 1750 power inverter I can make a small 110 unit turn on but when I plug a hand held angel grinder in it will go to fault. In the thread it states that IRF640 output mosfets may be burnt . Could that be what my problem is? Oh and I am very limited in electronics so type real slow so even I can understand please. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

OPP's I'm bad
UPDATE:
After checking all IRF640 output mosfets and finding no burnt ones I went and re hooked it up to my Jeep this time and it worked just fine. Baybe it needs more power to run than one large 12V.battery. I am so very sorry if I wasted any ones time. I do love your forum tho. In my defense I bought it at a yard sale for $60.00 new but no box or manual. I have been burned so many times I thought this one was just like the others. I will keep my eye open for a Xantrex Prosine 2500 inverter now for a good price on E-bay as was suggested. Thanks again.
