I like many bought this amp because of the stellar review given at our favorite scientific audio reviewer. And lately I have been listening to music I have grown familiar with on my big system with this amp. And I have to say I find it very unengaging. Its like an element of life has been sucked out of the music. I can't put my finger on it any better than that. Its clean sounding and all that but it is not an engaging sound. I find myself getting bored listening to it.... weird...

Topping A50s? If so, that's not weird as complete line sounds like that, lifeless, no 3D, no lypering. Flagship A90 sounds the same.
Seeing that this is diyAudio, you can always make an external adapter to add output series resistance if you so wish. Or apply some EQ to achieve much the same after a look at the cans' impedance curve. The amplifier does what it says on the tin. You may or may not like it exactly like that, but it's a known starting point.
