Hello all, I have a question. I have lots of LED candles and the large ones( the 8" column candles) have a timer in them. basically I turn the switch on the bottom to on at say 5 pm, they run for 6 hrs and then automatically turn off and then the next day they turn on at 5pm and repeat the cycle.( I. E I never have to tuun them on or off manually again) Now for my other smaller column candles they do not have a timer. So, what I wanted to know is their a way to add one with something similar to a 555 timer chip but it acts like the timer I described above? Smaller is best for the size of this, so I didn't know if their is a just a 1 off type chip that could work or do I need a mini circuit? The candles use 2 AA batteries for 1 amber led that flickers and thats it. Thanks for any further insight into this.🙂
The 555 is good at short timer intervals, but poor at long timings.
Look for some "counter" type timers that can work for very long timings.
