What on earth has that text got to do here 😕 😕 😕
It belongs to this thread: GB: for 2SK389 and 2SJ109 , but i just don't understand why it has been copied and pasted here.
And even using Variac's name.
Explanation please.

Even then, he was probably just a private person, trying to bring some joy to his fellow DIY'ers!! How did that turn out??

Hi Steen.

Admitted, that didn't turn out well, but still i don't see what that post was good for. It could be read as insinuation.

It's your money

Buying hard to get semiconductors from a private individual a foreign country with little recourse for bad parts sounds like as much fun as you can have with your cloths on. Ask the people on the forum who got fake k389s and J109s. Some people just never learn:smash:

P.S. Just being the devils advocate for a moment, where better to unload out of spec and counterfit parts than on an audio forum. A large portion of your victums don't have the equipment to measure a quality part and or enough invested to follow through on litigation against someone in a foreign country. Sounds like a deal to me!😉

I think the point is very appropriate. The referred to group buy was by a reputable person, but the guy he dealt with wasn't reputable it seems. So, without insinuating the the current group buy organizer has bad intentions, it is timely to be reminded that good intentions don't always guarantee a successful buy, and that the larger the group buy, the more risky it is.

Lest we forget the k389 debacle.... Caveat emptor.

While we understand that A'af didn't intend to defraud people, and seemed to be paying everyone back. He seems to have lost interest at this point.

I am very disappointed in this. He has paid back the majority of those that ordered, BUT it puzzles me as to why he seems to have stopped. Obviously this was a huge financial blow to him but the remaining members are no less deserving of payback that others and the amount is much less than he has already paid. We have allowed him to continue to sell here in the hope that he could raise the remaining money. It appears that he really isn't selling enough to do this.

At this point, unless he offers some explanation he will have to leave this place and not return.

All I am asking is that he explain his plan and begin again to make some effort. He has insisted- almost in annoyance, that he would pay everyone. If he couldn't , then he should have distributed the losses evenly- everyone should have gotten something back- even if not the whole amount.

As I said, he cannot continue to participate here if I don't get some sort of communication in the near future.

Hi wayness,

I won't comment on your intention. Perhaps you didn't read the previous posts in this thread carefully. Unlike ordinary group buy, I started to collect money after I verified these Jfets are OK from my expertise and point of view, pictures posted, and the interested members are satisfied before they paid any money. I myself did use a lot of 2SK170BL and 2SJ74BL from this supplier previously.

I think your so-called "Warning" should come right before this group buy began. I would have rather stop it avoiding all those trouble, controversy and suspicion. Firstly someone suspect you want to select the best parts from the stock, then another even worse.

Do you buy your parts only from Mouser or Digi-key? I do mostly despite I'm in Hong Kong, but they don't stock everything. I understand that such group buy among we DIYer may have affected the interest of businessman. Sorry!

I don't want to start any debate with you. Let's wait and see what the the members that had bought them would comment.

Last night, I donated a small sum of money on behalf of the group buyers to the forum as I anticipate some surplus.

This group buy won't end until all members receive their Jfets and are fully satisfied. These Jfets are not only guaranteed by Toshiba (see the picture).

Well, i also paticipated in the mentioned groupbuy, and yes, it was an unfortunate happening to say the least.
I just don't see any reason not to trust Housing, he has checked the goodies, and to me he stands like a trustworthy person.
In my mind, people are innocent until proven guilty.

All the best, and a thumbsup to Housing.

Hi Chief,

Your points taken. Your advice sound. But I'm not A'af. All his troubles could be saved if he had taken all precautionary steps. He even don't test whether they're working Jfets or not in the first instance.

Yes, group buys are risky. It's to both the buyers and organizer.

I started worrying the first afternoon I went to the post office. What should I do if the Jfets are lost in the course of delivery? Then I have the answer, I'm a responsible Man!

Hi Ebbe,

Thanks for your trust and support.

We Chinese have an old proverb which translates like "You get bitten once by a snake, you're afraid of a rope throughout your life." This surely isn't right.

We should stand tall from where we've fallen down!

I'll surely follow up with your assertion when this group buy is concluded.

Hi Paul,

So far I still don't hear any response from you. Could you please contact me via the email button within 2 days?

There are other interested members who fail to join this group buy in time. I'm considering to sell your portion to them if you have lost interest.

Thanks. :smash:

Thanks Paul for your payment. So far all group buyers have paid up and I'm going to ship the remaining packages tomorrow.

Thank you all for your trust and support. I stand behind all these Jfets that you're going to get. Don't worry!
