A small 3-way is better then a 2-way? Or not? What is your opinion?

And I think you misunderstand the notion... I'm not saying a hundred boxes... no, no... just build ONE huge box, you sit inside and the speakers are mounted on the walls facing in.

Ok, I got It. Once you resolve the problem of the back wave, which Is the error signal, you won't need to have multiple voices. That's what I Say. The idea to send the back emission outside the room
fights with the Classic positioning of two sources IN room, when you DON'T want to lay the speakers on the wall.
That Is the principal obstacle that Many don't understand, as there are is no room interaction nor room effects, it's Just sound sourcing from two speakers (and they have to be three ways...) and spreading...and quits After a while... it's sound...

Again... you are still missing my point... there comes sometimes in life when excess for its own sake is good:

Nigel Tufnel:
The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...

Marty DiBergi:
Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?

Nigel Tufnel:
Exactly.

Marty DiBergi:
Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?

Nigel Tufnel:
Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

Marty DiBergi:
I don't know.

Nigel Tufnel:
Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty DiBergi:
Put it up to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel:
Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Marty DiBergi:
Why don't you make ten a little louder, make that the top number and make that a little louder?

Nigel Tufnel:
[pauses] These go to eleven.

Very little. I prefer good speakers.

Ay.... fighting words in there. :yikes:

BTW, the little Audio Notes are astonishing good with the F4.

If you can't afford them, who can?, do what I did... buy them used. As I wrote earlier. got them for 40% of the MSRP just three years old.

I doubt you can do better for 1900 bucks ( including sales tax and shipping ).

I thought we we're talking about music reproduction...
Or are you on the side that ' I want to hear the LIVE event'...
Mmmhh...now here Life Is Born, as She Is washing dishes, So big interference in Life...and, hell! At night here in Florence, Italy, there Is a f#€***g helicopter Flying over the city. Two months ago It happened for the First Time, sort of a Nightmare that I thought It was once, for Emergency. Now I'm asking: Is It constitutional to allow this ( probably Is tourism)? Pollution, they really allow this... The fan metaphor applies

@planet10

Hmm.. that sounds like a veiled comment on nice little speakers.... from a widebander enthusiast... he?

You know, the other set of speakers in my main system are Maggie 1.7s with a pair of DIY A2s....

That system is outstanding.... them are five foot tweeters. I doubt anyone will contest on the quality of planar dipoles with a five foot tweeter... anything else, is pffft. dinky,. 🙂

In comparison, the AN and Acoustic Enegy AE1s sound extremely good too ( different, yes, but very good). Monopoles that load my living room very convincingly... a room that is pretty good sounding. The AN are shallow with a wide baffle and designed to be placed closed to the back wall... the AE1s are narrow and designed to be out into the room.

The Maggies put you on the front rows with a deep stage. The AN put you on row M with a shallower stage. The narrow, small AE1s are holographic, they do whatever the recording does.

Just sayin' but there are many ways to skin a cat... and our seats at the philharmonic are on row M... plus I used to do PA... So, that's what I "like".

Thus, as you say, I don't pass sweeping generalizations on speakers. And speaker design must take into account placement and room. The proof is really on the pudding, and for me, it's how good is the facsimile of what I hear live.

Now, if I win the Lotto I might resurrect a pair if Infinity IRSs with some NP SX300s.

Life is too short to take it everything seriously.

Now, if my stereo went to 12... then I might take that seriously.

My wife watches Korean Soap Operas on Netflix subtitled in English and American TV shows ( she does TV binging ) in the den... when she does that I can not listen to the stereo in the living room.

Yeah... what can we do except retire to the home office and have heated discussions about how many speakers and waveguides fit on the head of an angel.

Have fun. Sorry about the helicopters. ;-)

Do you have a new kid? Enjoy him/her. Surprisingly, that's the easiest phase of parenting. It gets more complicated... congratulations. Give the kid and wife a hug, have a nice glass of wine, ignore the helicopters...

The speakers and the room ARE the sound. This might seem basic but Many fail in understand that. Otherwise you have to quote each attribute to the exact location you examine It.
Yeah, forums are for this...
And sound Is ..
Edit: musical sound, which differs from 'just sound'
