Genesis of prototypes under study.

Goes back to the mid 1970's. The attached image is from the book which is entitled: Linear Applications; Volume 1 by National. This book was sold by Radio Shack, and is dated FEB1973.

The two schematics in the right-side of image view are abstracted from AN-32-7 entitled FET Circuit Applications.
