A question for the moderators

I have an older amp with a problem, I entered one of the other forums, but I'm not receiving much help ( or replies). I know there is a rule about using two forums for the same problem, and I understand why. My question is, how long should I wait until posting on this forum, assuming I can't fix the problem prior?

Don't know what you are going to ask, but in my travels, I often see questions that are not well asked and so get little response. Or sometimes the questions get real specific, and I have no useful reply.

And one that bugs me is a thread title like "amp problem" or "a quick question" which I often just pass by. Make the thread title informative, like "Fender Twin Reverb blowing main fuse."

I did't make myself clear

I would like to post my problem on this forum, however, four days ago I posted the same problem on another forum. I didn't want to post the same problem as that is against your rules. So... I'm looking for a way to find help from the members of this forum and stay within the letter of the rules, as I understand them. If I read more into the guidelinrs, let me know. I just want to do things correctly......Thanks

I searched here, RG1969 has only this post.

It seems he means that he posted to another website?
There is no rule against posting the same thing to another website.

This website calls subject areas (like Solid State) "Forums".
Seems like this is confusing, as most of these sorts of websites are commonly referred to as "forums"....

Go ahead and post ur question!!

It seems to me to be both polite and useful to mention on each forum that you have posted to another (and give a link). This means we don't have to ask lots of initial questions of clarification which have already been answered on the other forum. Some of us inhabit other forums too, and sometimes see that a vital peice of information may have been omitted (because nobody has asked for it) but it seems rude to butt in and divulge what has been said elsewhere - that is for the OP to do.

Why not combine them ?

we can do that only when opened by the one and same member 😉
its a free forum, and members can post or open threads, within the rules

and if other members begin to post their own 'issues' in another member's thread, it could end with looking like threadjacking
some times it goes, sometimes not
a lot depends on how or if members respect each other, and the topic
stick to topic, its really the most clear and simple rule we have
effective, and deals with many 'problems'

tho, sometimes a thread doesnt have a well defined topic
those threads can turn into 'difficulties'

but posting the same question in different forums(here) is not good
it would only lead to confusion, and mess

there is
but there are limits to everything

at your own computer, or company website, you can make those things
I do that too, with all my files
but only possible when one, or a few persons, have access to make changes

but here you have more than 200.000 members with access, making many changes every day

wow OP are you really that touchy? if so you wouldnt last long here anyway.

the people in this thread were not even rude, just a little confounded by the lack of an actual question, so as there was a thread here and you provided no actual subject matter, we grasped onto the only one that was hinted at ie. collating of (or not) users posts on similar subject matter.

given a problem to get our teeth into you will find the DIYA hive-mind pretty darn effective actually!! so post away!!
