then add you name to the list stephen1212. the idea is you add you own name to the list; you quote the list and add your name and number of boards at the bottom.

errmm not really no, its an IV stage ie 'current to voltage convertor'. this version has no buffer at all either, so would be of dubious benefit to a voltage out dac. for your info, all of the chips mentioned in this thread are current out dacs.

you have no need for this, all you may need is a buffer, driver or ' voltage follower'

Hi Guys,

Looks like I'll be ordering at least 40 boards then, since I'll be keeping 3 for myself.

I've finally got the layout complete and routed, so feel free to take a look and comment. It's hard to picture everything, but I've printed things off by the layer so you can line them up if you'd like.

I'll work on a BOM tonight, and hopefully I can get the boards ordered on Monday.

yeah and surface mount parts are terrible for decoupling arent they. isnt the whole dac SMD?? I think you will indeed find there are SMD components used and so should there be IMO they are the best part for the job

Yes, I would agree. However, mounting SMDs aren't a part of my skills.
I know, it's a pain getting old. My TP Buffalo parts were all pre mounted.

aahhhaa sorry I misinterpreted your reasoning sorry about that. there is just so much illogical aversion to SMD around here. dont know if its going to be practical due to my location, but if noone else closer to home will help you out. Owen could send your board here and i'll mount all the SMD stuff for you. I would like to think someone on here would help me out if I was in your position, so no problem
