I saw this new ribbon cable kit on dangerous prototypes and thought that some of you guys might be interested. Check it out.
I have never used ribbon cables in any of my projects but now it seems like it might not be that big of a deal.

Nasty horrible things are ribbon cables, now you only find them in the cheapest of products... there are better solutions.
Not a bad idea, however you can get those 40-pin F-F 0.1" (2.54 mm) cables with individual ends for about $2 shipped from that auction site (search "dupont cable"). If you need a 2 row by 5 pin cable, tear off a strip of 10 wires, then "super glue" the individual connectors together on each end. You don't need to stock housings every different pin configuration, you can make anything you want with a few drops of glue. You can also get M-F or 2.54mm to 2.00mm, etc.
