I recently was given a loudspeaker from a friend.
It is the Artcoustic Superstar Active:

I used it for the livingroom for a bit, but the powersupply broke in the PA-260 amplifier.
It always had bit of weird sound to it, muddy bass and also strong comb filtering, but it was still way better than the tv.
Since it just took up space it was time to take it apart.
There is a 10" subwoofer, two 5.25" midbasses and two ringradiators.
All screws are black Torx20 wood screws directly into the panel.
The cabinet is made from 10-12mm MDF without any bracing.
The subwoofer is a Peerless P830934. A quick search doesn't show anything, but it looks like custom HDS woofer.
The midbasses are Peerless P830944. These are probably custom SLS drivers.
The Tweeters are Peerless XT25SC50-04, these can be found online, but it looks like an older version.
There are two small white deflectors mounted oppositely between the drivers.
I never tried to take them off and listen. I actually never even got to mounting it to the wall, it always just stood on the floor against the wall.
The loudspeaker was bought originally 8-9 years ago.
All the drivers share the same volume, with a sheet of polyfill.
The subwoofer is driven from the left only.
I had started to upload pictures, but my computer decided it was time to throw an error and crash.
So I need to get my blood pressure under control before putting the pictures up again.

How does the bass driver not make the mids "flap about" or cause intermodulation or something....?
Looks like quality components, but poorly executed. As Andersonix pointed out, not isolating the woofer from the mids is a bad design decision. Ten to 12mm cabinets? That's at least half what it should be.

It probably doesn't not do that, could explain the sometimes weird sound 🙂
