Osvaldo,
Is true.
Turn-on produces a "slow" thump in speaker, but even testing with a (suspension sensitive) Mark Audio 3" don't provoke damage to speaker. For most situations people can use smaller values, but I don't resisted the temptation for making a very flat response to 20Hz, and have caps at hand...
Interesting is the complete absence of turn-off thump (unexpected when I build this, TBH)... in fact, when I power-off it with very low volume music, the music takes at least 20 seconds for vanishing completely, with gradual fading after some seconds. Most Si amplifiers makes very distorted sounds when at turn-off when junctions de-biases. This Ge amp fades like a valve amp. A side effect from leaky and low bandgap devices (and big caps... 😀 ).
If these big caps will reverse junctions at turn-off... I don't checked this (a interesting thing to review, then). But at least the last version using this values is functional since 2013 🙂 ; even the background low noise don't changed; noise change will be the first signal of damaged junctions. (also, supply also have big caps)

Here is the preamp schema.
Contrary to "common sense" when one don't have full knowledge about electronics like me.......
HA, oops, sorry, this was to be ironic... 😱 🙁 reading this as-is seems to be a arrogant sentence
At time when I write this, I read again, but was after the editing time expired, so I can't edited the post... too late...
Differently from this sentence, I have sooooo much to learn and comprehend 🙂
