Hello all!
I want to make my own video projector (to watch movies and maybe gaming) and i have found a 4" lcd which can support a 640*480 resolution with 18 bit colors ( 256k colors), but the problem is i haven't found a shop who selling them.
So i ask you if you have these lcd and if you know where to find i them. (i think it's interesting for many people , because small lcd don't need much light to project a good picture, and we can directly perform a lens like delta IV or fujinon without any fresnel.

Aren't they LCD modules? You will need an expansive controller in order to use it, and you would find it is hard to find too.
Yes this is a tft module, without controller.
If i want a controller which can have a 640*480 resolution with 6bit/color, how does it cost? i just want a vga input and output for lcd (no inverter for backlight, contrast adjust or other...).
Maybe i can build one? i can make the pcb , but i need components and schema, if one of you have that... tell me!

i think i have found the solution for control the lcd, i will not use the vga connector , but my dvi-i connector whch is on my radeon 9500 pro. I have found some dvi->lcd controller and they haven't so many components , like that if it works, i would be able to control all lcd module i want, and it would be less expensive, because the controller is the more expensive in lcd, (but not like as the AND lcd ....🙂 )
so if somebody can tell me how to build a dvi to lcd controller ....

I would bet this DVI to LCD controller would be in the same price range of VGA to LCD controllers. don't waste time on this unless you have located a cheap controller ( I think Zardoz can get it for under $200?)
the AND lcd id too expensive, and i have found a toshiba lcd whiwh have the same specs:
4" lcd P-si
640*480
256k color
5.2% transmissive
driver on glass, so we just need a controller with 27 connector (it's the same pinout as the AND lcd, so it's maybe a standart pinout for P-si lcd , i think)... The cost was 500$ in 2000 but now people can found them at approximately 250$.
Now i must found a controller.
I want one which just convert dvi signal to the tft signal, and i can make the pcd to build it. So i have to found a site who explain how to make a dvi to lcd controller.

Excuse me, it's not what i wanted to say, i haven't found a site like that, but i seek for one, i want a controller card for lcd which convert dvi to lcd's signal.
