Great. I understand the Dual polarity using Centre tap transformer. I was thinking of the 600va toroid.....but this is doable with what I have. Schematics are easier to understand than an explanation. Thank you.
what carver amp is it that you would like to repair ? some amps have a a very peculiar transformer circuit, with triple output rails, 6 in total.
The av-405. Hopefully it does not get lost in the eBay global distribution centre, like my Arcus did.
I ordered P101 boards from Rod for the carver. I was going to see if I can repair it first. I bought the carver to gut.....cheaper than ordering a chassis from Modus2000.
the carver is a straightforward linear amp, the only interesting circuit is the input limiter. it amplifies the signal across in the input diff pair, as soon as feedback control is lost the limiter kicks in. so must be repairable, one amp at the time.
